Terms of Service
What you agree to when you invite Modern Tickets into a server, or open a ticket with it.

What this is
Modern Tickets is a support bot for Discord. An administrator invites it into a server; members of that server write to it in a direct message to open a ticket, and the server’s support team answers from a thread in a forum only they can see.
Using the bot means accepting the terms on this page. If you do not accept them, do not open a ticket and do not invite the bot.
Discord comes first
The bot runs inside Discord and only there. Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines apply to everything you do through it, including the minimum age Discord requires in your country. If you may not use Discord, you may not use this bot.
Discord may change, restrict or remove what a bot is allowed to do. When that happens, this service changes with it.
Servers run their own support
Each server decides how it uses the bot: which categories exist, who may claim and answer a ticket, who may reply without showing their name, how long tickets are kept, and who is blocked from opening one at all.
Those decisions belong to that server’s administrators, and so does what their team writes to you. A complaint about how a server handles its support is a matter for that server, not for the bot.
An administrator can remove the bot from their server at any time, and a member can stop using it by not opening a ticket.
What your team can see
A ticket is not a private conversation with one person. Everyone who may handle tickets in that server can read the whole ticket: what was written on both sides, the files that were attached, and the internal notes the team leaves for each other.
A team member may answer under their own name or as “Team member”, depending on what the server allows. Either way, the server keeps a record of who actually sent each message.
Write into a ticket only what you are willing to have that server’s support team read.
The service is provided as it is
The bot is offered without any promise that it works, that it is available, or that it is fit for a particular purpose. There is no uptime guarantee. It can be offline, it can be slow, and a message can fail to arrive.
Features may change, and the service may stop entirely. If it is going to stop, the intention is to say so beforehand where it can be seen — but no notice is promised.
Do not use tickets as your only record of anything you would be sorry to lose.
Losing access
Access can be withdrawn from a server that abuses the service: using it to harass people, to break Discord’s rules, to send illegal or infringing content, or to push so much traffic through the bot that other servers suffer.
Withdrawing access can mean anything from blocking one person to removing the bot from a server. Where it is practical to warn first, that is what happens; where the abuse is serious, it is not.
Do not try to break, overload or reverse the bot, and do not try to read tickets that are not yours.
Changes to these terms
These terms can change — because the bot gains a feature, because Discord changes a rule, or because something here turned out to be unclear. The current version always lives at this address and carries the date it was last changed.
A change that materially affects what you agreed to is worth reading before you keep using the bot. Continuing to use it after a change means accepting the new version.
Getting in touch
Questions about this document, or about what is stored for you, go to the developer with /feedback in the bot, or with the Feedback button on this website. The command works in a direct message and in any server the bot is in.
